Video
Media Server
01 — Definition
A computer-based playback system that stores, plays and manipulates video and image content in real time for screens, LED walls and projection — the video equivalent of a lighting console. It maps content onto surfaces (projection mapping, LED processors), warps and blends edges, layers and composites, and is triggered live from cue lists, DMX/Art-Net, OSC or timecode. Common platforms: disguise, Watchout, Resolume, Pixera, Green Hippo.

The media server is the source feeding the wall or the projector, so its output resolution, frame rate and colour space have to match the processor and the display end to end. A mismatch there is the root of most 'why does the wall look wrong' calls.
