AES67
01 — Definition
The standard that gets audio-over-IP systems from different makers talking to each other — Dante, Ravenna, Livewire, Q-LAN. Be aware that it defines the transport only (RTP over UDP, multicast or unicast): discovery and control remain each device's own business. On the menu: 48 or 96 kHz, 24-bit, up to 64 channels per stream, and mandatory PTP synchronisation.
02 — In the field
AES67 lets a Dante console take audio from a Ravenna stage box, and the other way round. On the Dante side you enable it in Dante Controller and align the PTP domain with the AES67 network. Nothing plug-and-play here — budget time for configuration.
