Power Distro / PDU
01 — Definition
The equipment that takes one large incoming feed — single- or three-phase — and splits it into many individually protected outputs. A touring distro breaks a 63 A or 125 A CEE input into rows of 16/32 A outlets or Socapex, each on its own breaker and usually an RCD, with metering per phase. On a three-phase feed, spreading the load evenly across L1/L2/L3 keeps the neutral current low and the supply balanced.
02 — In the field
Balance the load across the three phases before the show, not during it: a lopsided distro trips one phase at peak while the other two sit half-idle. Locate the main breaker and the RCD test button before you need them, and log the incoming voltage on each leg.
