TLCI — Television Lighting Consistency Index
01 — Definition
A colour-quality score built for how a source renders on a television camera — where CRI models the human eye instead. On a 0 to 100 scale computed through a model camera and display, 85+ counts as broadcast grade. A fixture can score well on CRI and collapse on TLCI, because a camera's colour filters do not respond the way the eye's cones do.
02 — In the field
For any camera work, ask for the TLCI figure, not just the CRI. A fixture at CRI 90 but TLCI 70 will still give you odd skin tones on broadcast cameras: the camera sees colour differently from your eye.
