Pixel Pitch
01 — Definition
The distance, in mm, between the centres of two neighbouring LED pixels. The smaller the pitch, the higher the resolution and the closer you can stand: as a rule of thumb, pitch × 1000 = minimum viewing distance in mm (2.5 mm pitch → 2.5 m minimum). The other side of the coin is that a smaller pitch costs more and weighs more, for more power draw per m².
02 — In the field
Choose the pixel pitch for the closest audience position. A P3.9 seen at 1.5 m is worse than a P5 seen at 3 m. The pitch × 1000 rule stays conservative: depending on the content, you can get a little closer.
