powerCON / TRUE1 (Neutrik)
01 — Definition
Neutrik's locking mains connectors, standard on modern AV gear. Classic powerCON is a keyed twist-lock pair (blue = power input, grey = power output) rated at around 20 A but NOT a load-break connector: it must not be mated or unmated under load. powerCON TRUE1 (and TRUE1 TOP) IS a genuine hot-plug, load-break connector, sealed to IP65 for outdoor use.
02 — In the field
Grey/blue classic powerCON is not hot-pluggable: power the device down before you connect or break it, or you will arc the contacts and pit them. TRUE1 is the one rated to pull live. The two families do not interlock, so do not try to mix them.
