VideoGLOSSARY

Video Mapping / Warping

01 — Definition

Reshaping a video output to fit an irregular projection surface or LED structure. Keystone correction is the basic 4-corner adjustment, and it degrades image quality; full mesh warping corrects across a fine grid of control points, more precise but still a compromise against physical alignment. On LED walls, mapping handles custom panel arrangements, cutouts and curved surfaces.

02 — In the field

Always align the projection surface physically before applying any digital mapping. Software will not rescue a projector 10° off-axis: it eats resolution. Align first, map last.
